Freeze Warning

January 21, 2026

We have a Freeze alert for this weekend and beyond. When water freezes it expands, this is what causes breaks. Some of the best ways to stop water from freezing are movement, wrapping, insulating and a heat source. Know how to shut off the water at the main source/meter. You can always drip some of your faucets.

If you lose power – most homes have pipes in the attics, and these may freeze and cause substantial damage – turn off your water at the main source and use the backup recommended next. We recommend that you have some water inside the house in reserve (a tub full to use as flushing water for toilets).

Hoping for all members to stay safe and warm!
